I am Dr. Holger Bartel, CEO and founder of RealRate and other startups, and a lifelong entrepreneur and innovator in fintech and insurtech. I have built my career around using technology to bring transparency, trust, and accessibility to financial markets. My experience includes serving as Head of Life Insurance Mathematics at Gothaer and leading ALM, Risk Modelling, and Embedded Value at ERGO Group AG. Currently, I lead RealRate, an AI-driven rating agency based in Santa Clara and Berlin.

 

RealRate is the first rating agency to use Explainable AI (XAI) to provide fully transparent and understandable financial ratings. I am also a certified actuary by the German Association of Actuaries, which reinforces my expertise in actuarial science and commitment to professional excellence. My academic background in statistics, mathematics, and business has been instrumental in shaping my approach to risk and finance.
